Daily departures are offered from May to October for certified and experienced scuba divers.

Certified divers can book a seat on a walk-on charter in advance to secure their spot. However same day walk-ons are also possible, pending availability.

Rates from $105 + HST
Includes:
- boat dives, water and snacks on board, shuttle service from Tobermory town locations to harbour/dive shop
Does not include:
- Air fills, tank rentals
- Gear rental
- Gratuity
Minimum age:
- Divers must be a minimum age of 10 years old
- Minors under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian, or if participating in training dives, must be with a PADI pro within approved ratios
Minimum requirements:
Walk-on charters are suitable for advanced and intermediate level divers, please check if you meet the minimum requirements below for various walk-on charters.
- Intermediate Walk-on a minimum of 10 logged dives and some cold water diving experience in the last 12 months
- Advanced or Trifecta Walk-on a minimum of 10 logged deep and cold water dives in the last 18 months and divers must be travelling with their own gear (some exceptions)
- Night Dive Walk-on a night diver certification or equivalent experience, necessary gear includes primary and secondary light sources, and a tank marker light
What is a deep dive? A deep dive is defined as a dive to depths beyond 18 meters (60 feet)
What is cold water? Cold water is defined as below 15° C (50 °F)
Are there walk-on charters for beginners?
- For your safety entry level or beginner divers who are also new to Tobermory may need to perform a check-out dive, be accompanied by a private guide (PADI pro), or join an instructor on a course to be eligible for a walk-on charter
- If you are unsure whether you qualify for a walk-on charter please contact the shop before booking
Important Notes:
- Decompression diving is not allowed on any walk-on charter
- We reserve the right to refuse any diver if it is determined they do not meet the minimum requirements or demonstrate unsafe practices
- For your safety a check-out dive may be required to demonstrate your skill level and ability
Choose from four Walk-on Charter offerings:

Advanced Walk-on
Visit deeper sites that require a high level of skill and experience. These sites can have unpredictable currents at depth combined with low visibility and near freezing temperatures.
Requirements: a minimum of 10 deep and cold water dives in the last 18 months with a fair number of logged dives overall.
Depth range: 80 - 150ft / 25 - 45m
Rental Gear: not allowed (some exceptions may apply)
Dive sites include: the wrecks of the Arabia, Forest City, Niagara II, James C. King, Philo Scoville, and geological sites like Dufferin wall, East Flowerpot and more

Intermediate Walk-on
Visit sites that are appropriate for intermediate divers. The conditions at various dive sites can be unpredictable with temperatures dropping at depth.
Requirements: some cold water diving experience and a minimum of 10 logged dives within the last 12 months.
Depth range: 20 - 60ft / 6 - 18m
Rental Gear: allowed
Dive sites include: the wrecks of the W.L. Wetmore, Sweepstakes, City of Grand Rapids, Newaygo, Charles P. Minch, Caroline Rose and geological sites like The Caves (Grotto)

Night Dive Walk-on
Night diving offers a different perspective of the underwater world and can improve your overall diving skills, including buoyancy control, navigation and buddy awareness.
Requirements: night diver certification or equivalent experience, primary and secondary light sources, tank marker light (these are available for purchase and rent)
Depth range: to be determined by diver certification level
Rental Gear: allowed for sites up to 60ft / 18m
Dive sites include: the wrecks of the W.L. Wetmore, Sweepstakes, City of Grand Rapids, Niagara II, The James C. King and geological sites like The Caves (Grotto)

Trifecta Walk-on
Head North from Tobermory's Little Tub Harbour to visit 3 further away sites on this all day charter designed for advanced and experienced divers. Pack a lunch and snack as there will be no return to Harbour between dives.
Requirements: a minimum of 10 deep and cold water dives in the last 18 months with a fair number of logged dives overall
Depth range: + 80ft / 25m
Rental Gear: not allowed, some exceptions may apply
Dive sites include: the wrecks of the Arabia, San Jacinto and City of Cleveland
