Why PADI Dry Suit Diver Specialty Course?
A drysuit can keep you comfortable, even in cold water conditions and will extend your dive season while enhancing your comfort. There is incredible diving in the world’s cooler regions and in some areas, conditions and visibility can be substantially better in colder months. Becoming a drysuit diver expands your dive season and personal comfort zone allowing you to enjoy diving in more places, more often.
When to take the course?
The drysuit diver course can be taken concurrently with the Open Water Diver certification allowing you to experience diving dry, even on your very first dive!
The course is also suitable, for anyone interested in diving dry at any point in your diving career.
What will you learn?
During two open water dives, in addition to a confined water dive, you will practice the following skills:
- Donning and doffing your drysuit with minimal assistance
- Mastering buoyancy control using your drysuit
- Diver safety procedures when using a drysuit

What scuba gear will you use?
A dry suit is necessary for this course along with all your basic scuba equipment. Your PADI Instructor will explain other gear or equipment options you may need to dive comfortably with your dry suit. For example, you will be more buoyant in a dry suit than in a wetsuit, therefore you may want a different weight system setup.
