Why take the PADI Night Diver Course?
The thought of dipping below the surface at night is both mysterious and alluring. Although you may have been scuba diving at a site many times, at night you drop into a whole new world and watch it come to life under the glow of your dive light.
PADI (Junior) Open Water Divers or higher, who are at least 12 years old, can enroll in the Night Diver specialty course.
What do I need to start?
- PADI Open Water certification (or qualifying certification from another organization)
- Minimum age: 12 years old
What will I do?
Practice underwater navigation at night and learn how to find entry and exit points in the dark.Your instructor will share night diving tips, teach you how to stay in contact with your buddy, and avoid disorientation.

Where can I go from here?
How long will it take?
A minimum of three open water training dives are required and are generally completed over 2-3 evenings. Some of these dives may be from a boat, while others may be conducted as shore dives.
